 More than 100 primary school children are to take part in a robot building competition in Fife.
The Techno Games event challenges teams to build their own robot and then allow it to compete in one of three events.
The robot "wars" categories are assault, sumo and
football. A Dalek from the Dr Who TV show will watch over the
youngsters as they take part.
Professor Ian Watts, who features on the BBC's Robot Wars programme, will be on hand to offer help.
Robot roadshow
The event is being held at Adam Smith College in Kirkcaldy.
There will be 34 teams of primary school children taking part, with four members in each team.
Science skills to help pupils with the event have already been taught in a touring "Robot Roadshow" in schools.
Robot lecturer Bill Hutchison said: "This event is a
fantastic opportunity for primary children from all over Fife to get
involved in making robots.
"They are all really enjoying themselves and the activities are certainly sparking their imaginations."
